Tiny hamlet in west-central British Columbia where the Kitwanga River meets the Skeena, Gitwangak (also known as Kitwanga) sits on the north shore of the Skeena River against a backdrop of the Hazelton and Bulkley Mountain Ranges. It serves as a road junction between BC Highways 16 and 37, and a Via Rail stop on the former Grand Trunk Pacific transcontinental line. The First Nations portion is governed by the Gitwangak Band Council.
