Kitale
Kenya
Kitale is a highland agricultural city in Kenya's Rift Valley, founded in 1908 by European settlers and connected by rail to Eldoret in 1926. It serves as a market hub for tea, coffee, sunflower, and maize grown in the surrounding Trans-Nzoia region, and is home to the Kitale Museum. Nearby Saiwa Swamp National Park draws visitors to its wetland wildlife, and the city sits within sight of mountains at a considerable elevation.
