The oldest town in Ifugao province, Kiangan is home to the Nagacadan Rice Terraces, part of the UNESCO World Heritage-listed Rice Terraces of the Philippine Cordilleras. Once the provincial capital, it sits close to mountains and within walking distance of water. The wider Cordillera region holds further UNESCO-listed terraces.
