Yerevan's downtown core, Kentron is the commercial and cultural heart of the Armenian capital, with an exceptionally dense café and restaurant scene spread across its walkable centre. The Hrazdan River runs through the district's western edge, and the wider region holds several UNESCO World Heritage sites. Mountain terrain frames the city, and the district's streets and squares are among the most photographed in Armenia.
