Kaslo
Canada
Photogenic village on the west shore of Kootenay Lake in southeastern British Columbia, Kaslo has a small but real café and restaurant scene for its size. It grew rapidly during the silver boom of the late 19th century and retains much of its historic mining-era character. The surrounding West Kootenay region brings mountains close, and the lakeside setting draws visitors looking for both scenery and a quiet base.
