Juuru

Estonia

Little Estonian borough in Rapla County first recorded in writing in 1241, Juuru holds a Lutheran church with its churchyard, chapel, and cemetery, alongside a cluster of old oak trees. The Atla-Eeru Inn, which figured in the Mahtra War of 1858, still stands in the village. A ruined Orthodox church and its cemetery add a second layer of history to the settlement.
