Irkeshtam is China's westernmost border crossing, a remote pass in southern Kyrgyzstan's Osh Region where the road between Kyrgyzstan and Xinjiang crosses into China against a backdrop of mountain terrain. One of only two crossings between the two countries — the other being Torugart, to the northeast — it draws travellers making the overland journey along this stretch of the old Silk Road corridor.
