Iisalmi

Finland

Lakeside town in Finland's North Savo region, Iisalmi sits amid the waterways that define the Upper Savonia landscape. Established as a town in 1891, it holds a claim to the world's smallest restaurant, Ravintola Kuappi, and a birch-tree avenue on Pohjolankatu said to be the longest of its kind in Europe. The town also functions as a regional study and export-industry centre.
