This tiny hamlet on one of the highest points of the Greensand Ridge in Kent, Ide Hill sits within the Kent Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty a few miles south-west of Sevenoaks. St Mary's Church, built in 1865, claims the distinction of being the highest church in Kent, and the village football pitch holds the same record. Emmetts Garden, a National Trust property laid out in the late 19th century, and Bough Beech Reservoir nature reserve are both close by.
