Ica

Founded in 1563 by the Spanish conquistador Jerónimo Luis de Cabrera, Ica is a city in southern Peru with a dense café and restaurant scene and a centre marked by historic churches. The regional capital of the Department of Ica, it sits within reach of both mountains and water. The city suffered significant damage and loss of life in the 2007 earthquake.
