A small Faroese village at the foot of a deep inlet on Suðuroy, the southernmost island in the Faroe Islands, with mountain terrain rising around the water on multiple sides. Hvalba sits within a municipality that also takes in the settlements of Nes-Hvalba and Sandvík, making it a base for exploring this quieter, more remote corner of the archipelago.
