Hammondsport
Steuben County · United States
Sitting at the south end of Keuka Lake in New York's Finger Lakes region, Hammondsport is a pocket-sized village with a wine and brewing scene that punches well above its size, alongside a genuine waterfront. The village is also the birthplace of aviation pioneer Glenn Curtiss, who built early aircraft and the first seaplanes, testing them on Keuka Lake. The Pulteney Square Historic District preserves a cluster of listed buildings at the village centre, and vineyards surround the area.
