This port town on Sweden's west coast where the Nissan river meets the sea, Halmstad draws summer visitors to its beaches at Tylösand and Östra stranden and to a lively outdoor bar and restaurant scene that opens up in the warmer months. The town also claims the title of Sweden's golf capital, with a dozen courses in the area. Midway between Gothenburg and Malmö, it functions as the regional capital of Halland County.
