A little waterfront village at the head of Chedabucto Bay in Nova Scotia, Guysborough sits on its own harbour with vineyards in the surrounding area. Founded by Loyalists in 1784 following the American Revolutionary War, it carries a longer history still — French settlers arrived in 1634, and the Acadian community remained until the early 1760s. The village serves as the administrative seat of Guysborough County and takes its name from Sir Guy Carleton.
