Gemena

Gemena is the capital of Sud-Ubangi Province in northwestern DR Congo, a city notable for the mausoleum built in memory of Mama Yemo — mother of Mobutu Sese Seko — who died here in 1971. The city has a large airport and hosts a major military brigade. A waterside setting adds some context for those passing through this regional centre.
