Frasher

Albania

Frashër, a village in the mountains of southern Albania's Gjirokastër County, is widely regarded as the "Mecca" of Albania for the concentration of prominent intellectuals it produced, particularly in the 19th and early 20th centuries. Now a subdivision of the municipality of Përmet, it sits in highland terrain with a UNESCO World Heritage site in the wider region.
