Fairy Meadow
Pakistan
High in the mountains of Gilgit-Baltistan, Fairy Meadow — locally called Joot — is a high-altitude grassland that serves as the main base for climbers attempting Nanga Parbat's Rakhiot face. Declared a national park in 1995 and now part of Nanga Parbat National Park, the meadow sits at roughly 3,300 metres and offers direct access to one of Pakistan's most formidable peaks.
