Dukinfield
TLD35 · United Kingdom
Heritage-dense town in Tameside, Greater Manchester, sitting on the south bank of the River Tame opposite Ashton-under-Lyne, with a compact centre holding a concentration of historic churches and listed buildings. Dukinfield developed during the Industrial Revolution as a centre of coal mining and cotton manufacturing, and that history is still legible in its streetscape. The wider region has several UNESCO World Heritage sites within reach, and Manchester is a short drive west.
