Officially titled the "Natural Capital of Iran," Dorud is a city in Lorestan province set in the Zagros mountains where two rivers, the Tireh and Marbrereh, meet to form the headwaters of the Dez. The surrounding landscape includes multiple waterfalls — among them Bisheh, Aznadar, and Garma — alongside Gohар Lake, oak forests, gorges, and caves. Historical sites include the Chalanechulan bridge and a fortress attributed to Roman-era construction.
