Vienna's 22nd district, Donaustadt ("Danube City"), combines a walkable centre with cafés and restaurants alongside vineyards on its doorstep. Established in its current form in 1954, it is the city's largest and most populous district, stretching east to take in the Alte Donau and the Lobau nature reserve, the high-rise office and residential quarter of Donau City, and Seestadt Aspern, one of Europe's largest current urban development projects.
