This small mountain village in Norway's upper Gudbrandsdalen valley, Dombås sits at the junction of two major European highways — the E6 linking Oslo and Trondheim, and the E136 heading west to Åndalsnes — and where the Dovrebanen and Raumabanen railway lines meet. This makes it a practical base for travellers moving through central Norway's highland terrain, as well as the commercial hub for the surrounding valley.
