Dolcetto di Dogliani, a red wine produced from the vineyards that cover much of this compact Piedmontese town's surrounding hills, gives Dogliani its clearest identity. Set in the Langhe wine country of Cuneo province, the town sits within a wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites and supports a café and restaurant scene substantial for its size. Each year on the nights of December 23 and 24, residents have enacted a living nativity scene — a tradition running since 1975.
