Diu is a medieval fortified town on the eastern end of Diu Island, off the coast of Gujarat, known for its Portuguese-era fortress and cathedral. The seafront setting offers scenic views, and the town is within easy reach of the water on multiple sides. By 2018, Diu had become the first town in India to run entirely on renewable energy during daytime hours.
