Dili, the capital of Timor-Leste on the north coast of the island of Timor, has a walkable centre with a real café and restaurant scene and a concentration of historic churches. The city sits close to the water with mountain terrain rising behind it, and serves as the country's main port and commercial hub. Its international airport was renamed in honour of independence leader Nicolau dos Reis Lobato.
