Dhunche is the administrative seat of Rasuwa District in Nepal's Bagmati Zone, sitting at elevation in the hills north of Kathmandu and serving as a base for trekkers heading toward Gosaikunda, a high-altitude lake sacred in Hindu tradition. The town is reachable by bus along the Pasang Lhamu Highway and sits within a wider region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites.
