Angola
Cuito (also spelled Kuito) is the capital of Angola's Bié Province in the central highlands, a fast-growing city within sight of mountains and a short drive from water. Known until 1975 as Silva Porto — named for the Portuguese explorer — it serves as the most populous municipality in Bié Province and one of the larger urban centres in the country's interior.
