France Oise

Creil

Oise · France

A town in the Oise valley of northern France, Creil sits along the River Oise with a walkable centre offering cafés and restaurants. It held a royal castle in the Middle Ages, developed rapidly through 19th-century industry — first faïence pottery, then metalworking — and remains a significant railway junction with good connections toward Paris. An urban renewal programme launched in 2007 has reshaped several of its neighbourhoods.
