Founded in 1618 by thirty Spanish noblemen — earning it the nickname "City of the Thirty Knights" — Córdoba is a colonial city in the highlands of Veracruz, Mexico, designated a Pueblo Mágico in 2023 for its cultural and historical significance. It sits along the old trade corridor between Mexico City and the port of Veracruz, at the edge of the Sierra Madre Oriental, and forms part of a larger metropolitan area with Fortín, Amatlán, and Orizaba.
