A small town in South Africa's Northern Cape sitting at the crossroads of the main routes between Cape Town, Johannesburg, and Port Elizabeth, Colesberg is an agricultural centre known for merino sheep farming and racehorse breeding, with several stud farms in the surrounding area, including one owned by golfer Gary Player. The compact centre has cafés and restaurants for travellers passing through on the N1.
