Chiengi
Zambia
Sitting at the north-east corner of Lake Mweru in Zambia's Luapula Province, Chiengi is a little lakeside town with wooded hills rising behind it and a marshy plain stretching northward toward the water. The town takes its name from a rivulet that descends from those hills, and its colonial-era boma gives it a longer administrative history than most settlements of its size in the region. The combination of lake access, hill walks, and wetland scenery makes it a practical base for exploring this corner of Luapula.
