A riverside city in eastern Thailand with a dense café and restaurant scene along the Chanthaburi River, the city is also home to the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception — the largest church in Thailand — and carries a strong connection to King Taksin the Great, whose monument appeared on the Thai 20-baht note. It serves as a transport hub for Ko Chang, Ko Kut, and several Cambodia border crossings.
