Cetara
Salerno · Italy
Colatura di alici — a pungent, amber fish sauce pressed from anchovies — has been produced in this little Amalfi Coast village in Campania for centuries, and Cetara remains its best-known source. The village sits right on the water with mountain terrain rising behind it, and its stretch of the coastline has been part of a UNESCO World Heritage site since 1997. A tiny cluster of cafés and restaurants serves the village well for its size.
