Town in the rolling hill country of northwest Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cazin sits at a crossroads connecting Bihać, Velika Kladuša, the Adriatic coast, and the Croatian border. The largest city in Una-Sana Canton, it gained official city status in 2017 — the first settlement in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina to hold that designation without being a cantonal seat. The surrounding region, known as Cazinska Krajina, is laced with waterways and forested terrain.
