Cavite City
Philippines
A historic port city on Manila Bay, Cavite City served as Manila's main seaport during the Spanish colonial period and hosted the Manila-Acapulco galleon trade. Founded as Cavite Puerto in the early 1600s, it was the provincial capital from 1614 until 1954 and retains that layered colonial past. The city sits on a peninsula jutting into the bay, with Corregidor Island among its outlying territories and mountain views visible from the waterfront.
