Caulonia
Reggio Calabria · Italy
A compact Calabrian village in the Stilaro Valley with several historic churches for its size, coastal access, and views toward the mountains. Known until 1862 as Castelvetere, it renamed itself after the ancient Greek city of Caulonia — though that city was later found to lie near Monasterace, some distance to the northeast.
