Capitán Pastene
Lumaco · Chile
Capitán Pastene is the only locality in Chile founded by Italian immigrants, a compact village in the Araucanía Region set within the Nahuelbuta mountain range. Its Italian heritage forms part of the tricultural identity of the Lumaco commune, alongside Spanish Creole and Mapuche influences. The village sits close to mountains and has attracted enough independent traveller interest to earn its own Wikivoyage entry.
