Capdenac
Lot · France
Admitted to the Les Plus Beaux Villages de France association in 2010, Capdenac is a small village in the Lot department of south-western France, set above the Lot river with scenic views over the surrounding Quercy causse. A handful of cafés and restaurants serve the village, which has been inhabited since prehistoric times and was once — though the theory has since been discredited — proposed as the site of the Gaulish stronghold Uxellodunum, besieged by Julius Caesar.
