A compact Asturian town on the Narcea river, with vineyards in the surrounding hills and a compact centre of cafés and restaurants. Cangas del Narcea sits in the southwest of Asturias near the border with León, within reach of UNESCO World Heritage sites in the wider region. The municipality is the oldest and largest in Asturias, and the town was known as Cangas de Tineo until 1927.
