Sitting between the southern end of Columbia Lake — the headwaters of the Columbia River — and the Kootenay River, Canal Flats is a modest village in British Columbia's East Kootenay region with water on two sides and mountains close by. It lies along Highway 93/95 in the Columbia Valley, a short drive north of Cranbrook.
