Buxton
TLF13 · United Kingdom
England's highest market town, Buxton sits at around 1,000 feet above sea level on the edge of the Peak District National Park in Derbyshire. The spa town's walkable centre is thick with listed historic buildings, including John Carr's Buxton Crescent, Henry Currey's Buxton Baths, and Frank Matcham's Buxton Opera House. Poole's Cavern, a limestone cave, and St Ann's Well, fed by a geothermal spring, add to the draw. The town is also the source of Buxton Natural Mineral Water, sold worldwide.
