Burra

One of the best-preserved Victorian-era towns in Australia, Burra is a small historic centre in South Australia's mid-north, sitting on Burra Creek in the Bald Hills range. Its copper mines, established in 1848, once supplied the majority of South Australia's copper output and helped rescue the struggling colony's economy. The town retains its 19th-century streetscape and supports a modest café scene for its size, with scenic hill country in the surrounds.
