A large Colombian city in the Santander department, set on the Eastern Andes above the Río de Oro, Bucaramanga has an exceptionally dense café and restaurant scene alongside a centre with many historic churches. The city is widely known as "La Ciudad de Los Parques" for its more than 160 parks spread across the urban area, and its metropolitan area — which includes Floridablanca, Girón, and Piedecuesta — is among the largest in Colombia.
