Bint Jbeil
Lebanon
This mountain town in southern Lebanon's Nabatieh Governorate with a notable concentration of historic churches, Bint Jbeil sits in highland terrain and serves as the seat of its surrounding district. The town endured repeated destruction across successive conflicts, including Israeli military operations, and became a focal point of Lebanese resistance history when Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah addressed crowds there in 2000 following a withdrawal of Israeli forces.
