Bilbeis
Egypt
One of Egypt's oldest cities, Bilbeis traces its origins to the Fourth Dynasty of ancient Egypt and served for centuries as the eastern gateway into the country. Coptic tradition holds it as a stopping point of the Holy Family during the Flight into Egypt, and the Arabic sources identify it as the birthplace of Hagar. The city also hosts Egypt's Air Force Academy and is known for its Arabian horse and camel festivals.
