British Columbia's second-largest ski resort after Whistler, Big White sits high in the mountains southeast of Kelowna and operates from mid-November to mid-April. The ski area covers over a thousand hectares with more than a hundred runs served by sixteen lifts, and the village sits within the resort itself. A compact permanent community swells dramatically in season, when the resort can accommodate tens of thousands of visitors.
