A town on the Hooghly River in West Bengal, a short drive north of Kolkata, Bansberia is known for the Hangseshwari Temple and for its Kartik Puja festival. The town also hosts a Kumbh Mela celebration, and sits at the western end of the Iswar Gupta Setu bridge connecting it to Kalyani.
