Apóstoles
Apostoles · Argentina
Designated Argentina's National Capital of Yerba Mate, Apóstoles is a town in the southern part of Misiones province that hosts an annual festival celebrating the plant behind the country's most popular infusion. Originally founded as a Jesuit reduction in 1638, it was resettled in 1897 by Polish and Ukrainian immigrants who became the region's principal yerba mate producers. The wider region holds Jesuit-era UNESCO World Heritage sites, and the town sits within reach of the Argentina–Brazil border.
