Andacollo
Andacollo · Chile
A little mining and pilgrimage town in Chile's Coquimbo Region, Andacollo is one of the country's oldest pilgrimage centres, drawing thousands of devotees each year to the shrine of Our Lady of Andacollo. The town sits beside the large open-pit Carmen de Andacollo copper mine, and its name derives from Quechua words for copper and queen.
