Agios Kirykos
Ικαρία, Σάμος · Greece
The capital and main port of Ikaria in the North Aegean, Agios Kirykos has a lively central square — the plateia — ringed by cafés and restaurants, and several historic churches for a settlement its size. The town hosts an annual international chess tournament each July, and its Archaeological Museum, housed in a former school building, holds pottery, jewellery, and arrowheads from an ancient mountain outpost nearby. Rocky beaches line the waterfront, with calmer conditions in summer.
