This small wine-growing hamlet on the Danube in Lower Austria's Krems-Land district sits within a region ringed by UNESCO World Heritage sites, with vineyards in the immediate surroundings and a handful of cafés and restaurants for its size. First documented in 1148 under the name "Accusabah," Aggsbach Dorf occupies mountain-edged terrain along the river, placing it in the heart of the Wachau valley wine country.
